MEET Thumper!

I rescued my Thumper from One At A Time Rescue which is a volunteer non-profit rescue. His adoption was finalized in November and he’s now forever in his new home, with his family 🙂

I’m not gonna lie…I haven’t been necessarily a “cat person” as in I didn’t grow up with cat’s. My best friend down the street Kristine had 3 cats so maybe that’s where I got my kitten fix…whereas my family always had dogs growing up! ANYWAYS I’m now a converted cat lover and it was just meant to be.

I didn’t change his name because it’s already perfect just like Thumper🙂 If you’re a bit Disney deprived in life… then I’ll explain to you that his name is inspired by the movie Bambi, which is about a little deer…his mother is unfortunately shot by a hunter and he has to carry on his little deer life without her and it’s the SADDEST PART EVER!!! I don’t dislike hunters but I have just a very curious question for you hunters out there… okay hear me out…if you’ve watched that particular part…THAT PART where Bambi is wandering the forest calling out for his mother…have you like do you feel sad at all? For Bambi? That’s my question.

The first day Thumper mostly hid behind our couch in the corner of the living room…until I found my sweetheart little Ryder, sitting behind the couch, taking tiny pieces of Thumper’s kitty food and hand feeding it to him one by one. It was the most adorable thing ever! Ryder sat with his new kitty behind the couch for hours…seriously… (don’t worry, he beckoned me for constant snacks and refills and Nintendo switch games and what not!) Like of course he’s a child, anyways he made Thumper feel so comfortable and built major trust and got Thumper out of his couch shelter literally!

I’m trying to type this right now and Thumper is currently snuggling on my chest, watching me type. My new favorite thing is little sandpaper kitty kisses!!! He’s such a playful sweet little ray of sunshine and I’m happy to say that Thumper and Pongo get along just like great little bro’s! Thumper is very therapeutic and I suggest everybody rescue pets IF YOU are responsible, and have the means to take care of pets in whatever area you live etc….!
